I was commissioned by MUCPA to portray 14 iconic theaters in Panama City and Colón for the exhibition “Imagining the City. Retrospective of Panamanian Cinema”. The illustrated pieces were exhibited outside the Hatillo Building (City Hall of Panama offices) on illuminated acrylic plates inside traffic cones. Since it was the first time that an exhibition of this type had been held and the visual references were very few, they gave me the opportunity to recreate these magical places through illustration.

Recibí un encargo del MUCPA para retratar 14 teatros icónicos de la ciudad de Panamá y Colón para la exposición “Imaginando la Ciudad. Retrospectiva del Cine Panameño”. Las piezas ilustradas se exhibieron en el exterior del Edificio Hatillo (oficinas de la Alcaldía de Panamá) sobre placas de acrílico iluminadas dentro de conos de tránsito. Como era la primera vez que se hacía una exhibición de este tipo y las referencias visuales eran muy pocas, me dieron la oportunidad de recrear estos mágicos lugares a través de piezas ilustradas.
